The Beginning
My career began as a Graphic Designer, where I was responsible for both print and web for various companies. As technology changed over the last several years, I needed to update my skill set and knowledge which lead me to a degree in Web Design & Development. Both of these fields go hand and hand, so it was a fairly painless transition for me. With 19 years experience to date in Graphic Design, it has given me the opportunity to become a top rated Front-End Developer, with a balance of clean design and a friendly user experience (UX). I do enjoy Back-End Development and was the main reason I returned to school, to become a certified Full Stack Developer. My somewhat unique skill set can be a valuable asset to any project or team. I am people friendly, I love problem solving and take pride in my work.
Hobbies
I have been an avid aquarium enthusiast since I was a young boy catching fish, turtles and even gators around Central Florida. I currently have a large aquarium and a large turtle pond that keeps me busy.
Wood working projects can be a lot of fun. I’ve built walk-in chicken coops, other large cages for our pets, bed frames and wood art projects.
Interests
I enjoy anything outdoors. Beach days with the family are always fun, we usually try to find new eating spots with night life. It’s exciting going to new places and finding really cool places to hang out, with the ocean breeze coming in.
Kayaking and boating is always a great time. Fishing the inter-coastal waterways, the lakes and rivers around Orlando, is the most peaceful thing I could ever do.
I enjoy watching my kids do anything, whether it’s baseball, softball, football, dance, gymnastics, swimming, a school play or ordering food while they are working.
Volunteer
I spent about 12 years coaching baseball after my playing days were over. I was able to coach both my sons thankfully. I had a lot of good days coaching kids the game I love. Seeing them excel and learn was a great feeling, helping others succeed is very rewarding. I am Blessed to have been able to help so many kids and be a positive influence on them. At times I was a taxi, a baby sitting service, a disciplinary, a friend and at times even an enemy, but would do it all over again. I coached kids from t-ball all the way through high school and travel baseball, served on our local Little League and Babe Ruth Board of Directors for many years.
I believe we should all serve our communities in any capacity we are able to.
